Meet Coach Brian Parise and Brian Senior in the Blue Gym for these intensive sessions of Project Adventure. Learn all the elements involving Project Adventure! Walk the high ropes course, fly down the zip-line, scale the new climbing wall and hone your teamwork skills. Students will leave with a huge smile on their face wanting to explore more!

The first three classes (1/29, 2/5, 2/12) will take place at The Rock Club in New Rochelle. This trip to the indoor rock climbing facility should be a tremendous experience for the students. The class will board a bus from school at 3:10pm and will return to Bronxville at 5pm. Students without walking permission should be pick up from the cafeteria at 5pm. ALL OTHER CLASSES WILL DISMISS FROM THE CAFTERIA AT 4PM.

Bronco Ballers- Tournament Style Basketball Dean Tatarian 3-5 20 $280 This revamped basketball class will have students enjoying the game mostly through various lead up activities and tournament style games. Coach T will have the kids enjoying all aspects of the sport while engaged in games for most of the class.

Coding through Space Exploration and Drones Brad Ashley 4-5 12 $280 Students will aim for the skies and learn about the Engineering Design Process while coding. Students will be using a variety of mediums and technology to learn how NASA uses the Engineering Design process to solve everyday problems on the mission and also learn how to code to explore other planets. This course will combine a basic level of coding (in a variety of languages) and also be hands on as students create prototypes of solutions to problems encountered on NASA missions. In addtions students will have the opporunity to Skype with a space walk operator from NASA.
WeDo Robotics Computer Adventure 1-3 12 $310 This class provides the opportunity for the younger children to get an introduction to simple robotics. Build and program dancing birds, drumming monkeys, hungry alligators, roaring lions and more. Students learn to build models, attach sensors and motors, and use a computer to program the model’s actions and behaviors. Students will also learn about simple engineering concepts such as pulleys, belts, gear and levels, while having a blast with their creations. Make a Movie Trailer The Picture House 3-5 12 $280 In this class we’ll learn all about the basics of filmmaking, from creating characters and camera technique to storyboarding, acting and directing. Students will brainstorm the plot for their feature film, then work together to film and act out a trailer to promote their big idea. Once the video is edited, student’s will have the opportunity to see their work on the big screen at the Fall Student Showcase at The Picture House.

Gymnastics Valerie Palacio 1-3 18 $280 Gymnastics is back for another semester! During this class, kids will have the opportunity to explore various gymnastic skills from body weight movements, to tumbling, to balance. Computer Game Programming Computer Adventures 3-5 12 $310 Students program their own customized functional arcade-style computer video game. This class will create game elements such as the player, enemies, bonuses, levels, lives, and program object movements. In addition to having fun and gaining a sense of accomplishment, students learn about programming logic, drag-and-drop programming; logical functions such as repeat loops, conditional statements and variables.

Stop motion animations are created by taking lots of individual pictures and playing them back at a certain speed to create movement. Students will explore stop motion animation by creating stories with Legos. Students can expect to finish this class with several completed animations.

This class teaches beginners the basics of playing the guitar with interactive instruction. Advanced Coding with Scratch Digital Art Experience 2-4 18 $310

Students should have experience with building simple games in Scratch, including how, add sprites and backgrounds, to control sprites with the keyboard or mouse, and have sprites interact with other sprites or background (i.e. create a score counter).

Learn to build advanced games using Scratch! Building on what was learned in Adventures in Scratch, students will learn more complex and real world aspects of computer programming.
